Rosie Birnbaum

Education and Event Coordinator Ocala Region. Animal advocate born in Rochester NY, into a family business of care and rescue of dogs, cats and birds. Rose began working with children for the Town of Irondequoit NY Recreation Department. She pursued teaching Physical Education, while developing programs for children having perceptual motor problems. After 33 years, Rose retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Western NY District. She was part of a team of pioneers which created the structure and development of the Marketing and Communications Department including Sales, Promotions and Information, Retail Management, and Consumer Affairs. Rose received much leadership training from such educators in NY state as Young and Rubicam Advertising Agency and Dale Carnegie. Rose has volunteered her services at EARS, Endangered Animal Rescue Sanctuary in Citra FL and the ANIMIS Foundation, Ocala FL. She presently has advanced through the Parelli Horsemanship Program and volunteers at the Horse Protection Association of Florida. In 2015 Rose initiated the Stop the Bear Hunt rally in Ocala Florida. She then answered an emergent call as a bear monitor at Ft. McCoy in the Ocala National Forest. This life altering experience has set the tone for her to help insure the protection of animals and their habitat for her grandchildren. Rose is a graduate of SUNY State University at Brockport NY holding a BS degree in Physical Education and Psychology minor.
