Wildlife Passage Update

On July 2, 2017 Imagine Our Florida Director Aymee Laurain was driving through the pan handle when a vehicle

ahead of her struck a male Florida black bear.

Incidents like these happen far too often and result in injuries or fatalities to wildlife and sometimes safety risks and expensive costs to people. One year ago we began working on a project that would craft a proposal for insurance companies to establish a fund that would specifically go towards wildlife passages. The proposal is finally complete and insurance companies throughout Florida are being contacted to receive a copy of the proposal.

Projects like these take time and patience. It may take several more years until the project comes to fruition but we are dedicated to seeing this project through to the end. We imagine a day when wildlife can pass across roads without fear of injury or death. This is yet another way we can peacefully coexist with our wonderful Florida Wildlife.
